First and foremost, what IS stress? Are you experiencing it now?
Stress is the way how our body reacts to the pressure concerning us.we will feel emotional and physical strain when we're put under pressure.
Several symptoms includes the change of appetite, headaches, crying, exhaustion, sleeplessness, and oversleeping.Other indications also include sudden change of behaviours or turning to drugs and alcohol as a solution out.
So how do we Deal with it ?
1. HOLD ON! Before you go on to carry on your things, first take a step back and see the current situation. What is it that you have got to do/what's the problem ? List them down.
2. Next,Priortise! Put the things that you need to do urgently first on the list, rank your list and slowly work out the solution one by one, a step at the time. Don't try to attempt to do all at once together. You're just landing up yourself in a bigger mess later on. Do things in an orderly manner and everything would be sweet for you.
3.Relax yourself (: While doing your things, try not to be bother by other thoughts and problems. Just try to focus on the things you're doing at the moment.
4.Set realistic goals for yourself. Dont expect yourself to complete a 1 year project in 1 week! Be flexible when setting goals for yourself. If you haven't start setting your goals yet, start now.
5.Change the way how you see things. People tend to be pessimistic when they are feeling stress. Try to be optimistic, BE POSITIVE! think of the benefits that you will gain from the solving the problems.
6.Share your problems with your friends! Friends are they for many reasons, and one of them is to help you out when you're in need. Talk to them about your problems, let them hear you out. Even if they can't offer much of a help to you, just talk, you will feel better eventually. Don't ever bottle up your feelings, share them.
7.If time permits, go for a game or two with your friends sometimes.Do the things you love like playing ball games and "kick" away those stressful things! It definitely helps by loosening you up abit.
8.Rest and eat well .Make sure you do not skip your meals and sleep punctually each night. Sleep deprivation and bad eating diet can be very hazardous for health and you wouldn't want to waste your money giving the doctors a visit. It will just add on to your financial "stress".
9.Seek around you for other solutions. If your peers can't help you and you can't find any help online, approach your family or teachers. More often, teenagers under pressure wouldn't want to approach them for help due to some personal reasons BUT that's not the way how things should be done! You want a solution to your problems so don't let any small obstacles such as personal feelings (embarassment, guilt etc ) to stop you from doing so. REMEMBER! Your greatest enemy is no one but yourself and if YOU don't wish to help yourself, no one will.
10.Reward yourself. After doing something always remember to praise yourself for your hard work put in. At the end of the day, you would be sleeping with a smile on your face. believe me ;)
Now will all this tips listed down, I hope everyone would have a better stress management now and if possible, lead a stress-free life!
All the best! =D
